DTI embarks on across-the-board recruitment drive
Recruitment company Mpowa Resourcing is expected to fill eleven top positions, including those of directors, deputy directors and COO at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) by May 1, in the first of a three-phase operation, Mpowa director Veronique Hoog said.
Following restructuring, the high level of vacant positions at the DTI has been much cause for concern, with President Thabo Mbeki himself raising concern about understaffing at the Department, which he said was key to delivering on the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative.

30 January 2007 Mpowa Resourcing Tipped to fill DTI skills gap
Mpowa Resourcing (Pty) Ltd announces is on a drive to fill nearly 40 senior management posts at the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti)by mid-year.
The dti has set up a recruitment office to employ the approximately 250 lower level positions that are vacant, but following a tender process, they have outsourced the recruitment of the senior positions to Mpowa Resourcing. Many of the vacancies have arisen as a result of re-structuring of various departments in the dti.
